THANK YOU for the sweat shirt LOAMC. Will wear this proudly… Farming towards HUNGER FREE COMMUNITIES

Yesterday, while at work, I recieved a sweat shirt from our partner, LOAMC (League of Organic Agriculture Municipalities & Cities). Thank you Prof. Vic I. Tagupa and Mayor Rommel Arnado During our first batch of cohorts, we piloted measuring the effects of Family Farms.

These were in 7 LGU members of the LOAMC. Last June, we have already done an intermediate impact study. So far, 93% of the participating farmers have become hunger free. Further more, they have increased income directly attributable to the family farms.

Now, we are using toolkits to deepen our efforts and sustain the engagements with the families and LGU community organizers. One of the picture below shows the Family Farm orientation in Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, led by Mayor Coors Coro.

We are looking forward to how the Mayors will scale this and see how we can also tweak the program to further enable local leaders.
